Ellingson was only 13 when he joined the entertainment industry. He started his on-screen career with a small role on “General Hospital” and later appeared in “24,” “Bones,” “Complete Savages,” “Titus,” “Mad TV,” “That Was Then,” and “CSIL Miami” where he played Kyle Harmon, the son of the show’s star.

He also appeared on the big screen, notably in “My Sister’s Keeper” alongside Cameron Diaz, “Letters from Iwo Jima,” “Walk the Talk,” “Confession,” “The Bondage,” “Rules of the Game,” “Time Changer,” and many other. However, he stopped his acting career in 2010.

In 2009, Ellingson talked about his young fame and revealed he did not have the same childhood as other boys his age. He added:

“I never had more time with them. However, my childhood was a cool one. I was busy doing the things I love. I had no regrets because I found my passion for acting early on.”

Nevertheless, Ellingson enjoyed his career, especially his role on “CSI,” which he considered one of his big breaks. He liked working with helpful actors and crew members and was also a fan of the show itself. Admittedly, he watched the series “religiously” at home.

Being on the show made his name and face recognizable in public, including at the gas station where he encountered a person who asked if he was Horatio’s son.

Like Ellingson, many child stars have fallen into the wrong path growing up. Fortunately, some have since turned their lives around, including Disney star Lindsay Lohan, who is a doting new mom in Dubai.
